I am first an internet marketer thinking
of only a business
application.
I don't think it is either or, I think it is both.
However, I think you should start with a blog
and move into a website.
My first step into the cyber world other than learning how to get my way around on the web, was to make a blog.
I
was eager to start an internet business and learn about something called like a blog after that I placed some affiliate links
to that and that was it.
That being said, now I am going to tell you a story.
Imagine that you just opened up a shiny new
business in cyber space.
You picked the best location, you remodeled it so that it reflects you and your product.
You
even stocked all those shining shelves with the best of all products.
As you are making your own website, your cyber store, you develop
a great process, system and know the best way to take care of your customer.
Wearing your Sunday best,you show up for your very
first day. It sparkles in the virtual sun as you open the doors to the world wide web.
You sit there day in and day out, getting
more discouraged every day. No one is coming to see your spiffy new place.
You forgot to do a very important thing - market
your store. No one knows about you and you can't leave, because what if someone shows up!
Unpaid vendor balances stack up, the rent on those shelves is due and you are getting just a bit nervous.
Something has to be done!
Cousin Joe's neighbor four doors down heard about a thing called a blog.
It's this cute little vehicle that moves around in cyber space with ease. It is operated by a real friendly chap who will spread whatever message you want it to spread, just say the word.
It can drive up and down each and every street in cyber space, and will chat with anyone it comes into contact with... spiders most of all, and other blogs and people.
Works real cheap, so you can afford to do this! Sure wish you would of thought about blog vs website before you built that site without a marketing plan! Oh well, no time like the present!
You give the blog your message and sure enough... it drives up and down and all around...spreading the word about you.
You see some traffic, but, really not as much as you had hoped for.
In a dream, you realized that if you gave the blog the name of the street that your dream 100 clients lived on, your blog could tell just the people you wanted about your store.
This would mean that they would show up and almost certainly would buy something.
So you do that very thing.
Armed now with this awesome keyword, the blog races on over to Dream 100 Street.
And then the crowds start pouring in to your store.
